Jack F. Mitchell

Jack F. Mitchell, age 90, of Gautier passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 in Ocean Springs, MS. He was born June 23, 1935 in Picayune, MS. Mr. Mitchell was a US Army National Guard Veteran and member of North Gautier Baptist Church.  He was the owner and operator of Jack Mitchell Construction For over 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Lois Marie Lizana Mitchell; parents, Rayford Mitchell and Eunice Farmer Mitchell; two brothers, Charles Ray Mitchell and Onra Mitchell; sister, Evelyn Lee Eads; son-in-law, John Ferrer. 

Jack is survived by his wife, Sherry Mitchell, Lucedale; daughter and three sons, Claudia Ann Ferrer, Hot Springs, AR; Mark Mitchell (Cheryl), David Mitchell (Nina) and Scott Mitchell (Alyson), all of Gautier; one brother and one sister, Donald Mitchell (Janie), Picayune; Melva Kay Wages , Mobile, AL; eight grandchildren, Adam Mitchell, Meaghan Mitchell, Haley Merrill (Daniel), Zackary Mitchell, Wes Ferrer, Alyssa Ferrer Torrance (Gerald), Hayden Mitchell and Hunter Mitchell; one great granddaughter, Lois Elizabeth Merrill;  other relatives, church family and great friends.

Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, 10:00-11:30am at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.   Graveside service will follow at 1:30pm at Gipson Cemetery in Picayune, MS with Rev. David Thomas officiating.
