James McPhearson “Mac” Lanham, age 42, of Gautier, Mississippi died May 18, 2024. Mac grew up in Gautier, MS, attending Singing River Elementary and graduating, with honors, in the first class of Gautier High School, in 2000. He earned a bachelor’s degree, in history from the University of Southern Mississippi, an Associates’ degree in Electronic Technology from Gulf Coast Community College, and a degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of South Alabama.
Mac worked with the 85th Engineering Installation Squadron, Keesler AFB until 2023 when he fell victim to severe depression and anxiety. He ceased working, moved to his parents’ home, and after months of seeking medical treatment, Mac took his own life, leaving behind grieving and bewildered parents, Bill and Bobbye Lanham, sister Ellie, loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 10:00am- 12 noon at First Baptist Church in Gautier. Funeral Service will begin at 12 noon with Rev. Chad Ball officiating at the church. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, MS. You may send condolences to his family or share a memory of Mac for the family to treasure on the Tribute Wall of this funeral home website. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials to be made to First Baptist Church in Gautier for scholarship fund for the youth camp. Active Pallbearers will be Joey Prechter, David Jones, Noll Goff, Mike Foster, Billie Lofton, and Ronnie Johns. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Goff, Paul Goff, Warren Goff and Sam Lanham.
