Jane Carol Stokes Savell passed away at her home on Sunday, July 12, 2020.
Jane’s story began in Kemper County, MS on June 14, 1938 to R.B. Stokes and Nannie Stokes. She was a graduate of East Mississippi Community College. She was working as a telephone operator in a small town when she met Wayne Daniel Savell. It was a perfect connection and on December 11,1958 they were married. This union was blessed with two children, Wayne and Jan. She was intelligent, talented, and always open for a new adventure. Jane worked as an accountant before retiring and was a longtime member of Eastlawn United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard, and like most things she touched the plants and flowers flourished under her tender care.
Mrs. Savell was a lover of music and traveling. She played the organ and piano at various churches over the years and she and Wayne traveled all over the United States and Germany. Because of its steep musical roots, Nashville became one of their favorite places to visit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, R.B. and Nannie Stokes. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Savell of Pascagoula, MS; two children, Wayne Stokes Savell ( Jennifer), Moss Point, MS and Jan Oswalt (David) of Ocean Springs, MS; a brother, Roy Stokes (Janice) of Preston, MS; grandchildren, Brett Savell, Chris Savell, Kyle Oswalt and Kaitlyn Oswalt; special cousin, Charlene Stokes and numerous, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She loved her friends dearly and made effort while living to show her love. She was a believer that life is when you express your love and care for those around you. The family is honoring her request and there will be no public services. Condolences and memories can be shared online at www.obryantokeefe.com.
