Jay Politi

Jay Wesley Politi, age 57, of Ocean Springs passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 at his residence.  He was born April 19. 1966 in Redford, Michigan and graduated from Redford Union High School in 1984. 

Jay attended University of Central Florida on a football scholarship.  He was the owner of a Gym in Orlando, Florida and worked in the Tire and Wheel industry. He was a former Senior Vice President of Liberty National Life Insurance and received his Master’s Degree in Professional Leadership Development from Harvard University.

He was an avid football fan of Michigan University and especially enjoyed the recent win of the National Championship while watching it with his family.  Jay enjoyed woodworking, cooking, music, and most importantly spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Politi and mother, Mary Ann Monk Politi. Jay is survived by his wife of 19 years, Shelley Politi, Ocean Springs; one son and three daughters, Nicholas Politi, Ocean Springs; Ashley Smith (Cody), Vancleave; Angelina Politi, Pascagoula; Alexis Politi, Vancleave; one step-son, Jimmy Dever, Charlotte, NC; sisters, Joanna Politi and Nikki Boyett, Ocean Springs; brother, Billy Politi, Redford, MI; five grandchildren, Jacob, Easton, Finley, Jaxson, and Rylee. 

"Jay never backed away from a challenge due to fear. He knew that he was different and seized on that fact. Fearless of failure."
