Jerry Mack Lee

Jerry Mack Lee was born in Hattiesburg, MS on August 16, 1940. He was a graduate of Pascagoula High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. Jerry retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in 2003 as a Fire and Safety Supervisor. He loved music and although he played very little, he had an ear to know when music was not just right.  He enjoyed C.B. Radio’s and gained many friends from his CB experiences. He attended the First Baptist Church in Gautier, MS.

 On June 21, 1969 Jerry and Phylliss exchanged the vows, til death do us part.  And so it was on Tuesday July 2, 2019 fifty years later, that time came, as Phyllis sat at his bedside until the end.

 He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee, Dorothy Newson; devoted grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Calhoun and a half-sister, Patricia Taylor.

He is survived by his wife and friend Phylliss Lee of Gautier, MS; devoted and loved sister-in-law, Joyce Branson; special cousin and best friend, James A and Cindy King. Jerry always felt like his relatives were his best friends forever and his best friends were his best friends forever.  He was known to be sure we got together with family and friends as often as possible.  If someone needed a job he never wavered to offer assistance.  He got on the phone to someone he thought might help them.  He loved his job in the Fire & Safety Dept. at Ingalls and all of the friends he made at Ingalls.  When Jerry and I married my family became his family and his family became mine.  Niece-Alesia Lee (Ronnie) Stubbs and nephews-Patrick Miller and Trey Taylor.  Cousins-Donna (Larry) Benton, Davage (Bonnie) Runnels, Jr.; Cynthia Daigneault, Christopher Calhoun, Jacklyn, Adell Martin, Teri Lyn (Tony) Berry, Bill Lee Stein, Suz’n (David) Andrews, Charles Michael (Kerrie) Branson, Jason (April) Branson, and multiple others.  Best Friends for Life-Glenn (Barbara) Barlow, William (Jacklyn) Hansen, Harry (Jean) Robertson, and many other wonderful friends and neighbors. 

Visitation will be Saturday July 6, 2019 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula from 10:30-12:00 noon. The funeral service will follow in the chapel. Interment will conclude at Serene Memorial Gardens.
