Jo Ann Jones Griffin

Jo Ann Jones Griffin, age 76, of Gautier passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2022 after a brief illness. She was born March 4, 1946 in Pascagoula and has been a lifelong resident of Gautier.  Jo Ann was employed with Pascagoula-Gautier School System for 9 years. She retired from the U.S. Naval Station in 2008 after 19 years of employment. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Gautier and enjoyed spending time and caring for her family and friends. Jo Ann enjoyed crocheting and cooking for family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, William Howard Griffin, Sr; infant son and daughter, William Howard Griffin, Jr. and Angela Renea Griffin; parents, Joel E. Jones, Sr.and Hazel Jones; sister, Janis Green; four brothers, Jeffrey Jones, Bob Jones, Jimmy Jones and Joel Jones, Jr.

Jo Ann is survived by her three sons, Stephen Craig Griffin, Cheyenne, WY; Darrin Bruce Griffin, Orlando, FL; Douglas Scott Griffin, Headland, AL; sister, Jeannie Lee, Gautier; two brothers, John Jones and Jerry Jones; grandchildren, Shelbea, Brandon, Brianna, Kora, Eliot, Reagan, Avery, Ryan and Paige; devoted sister-in-law, Janet Jones, of Gautier; numerous other relatives, friends, and loving church family.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, 1:00-2:00pm at First Baptist Church in Gautier.  Funeral Service will begin at 2:00pm with Rev. David Aultman and Rev. James Wilson officiating.  Graveside service to follow behind the church at Pinecrest Cemetery in Gautier.   Memorials may be made to her church, First Baptist Church in Gautier or St. John’s Children’s Foundation.
