John Charles Brandenstein passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
Jack , or Captain Jack as he was commonly known was born on June 15, 1938 in Logansport, Indiana to Clifford and Elizabeth Brandenstein. At the age of 15 his parents passed away and young Jack met head on the responsibility that became his. He served in the United States Navy and later served and retired from the Logansport Fire Department. After retirement he moved to the Gulf Coast to be near his children and the water which brought out the sailor in him. He enjoyed the coastal life and smoking a pipe. He will be missed.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dale Smith and a great-grandson, Jayden Lane Breeland.
He is survived by four children, John Clifford Brandenstein (Terri Jo Graham), David Glenn Brandenstein (Amy Sloane), Susan Brandenstein, and Lisa Marie Smith; 10 grandchildren, Emma Grace, Abigail, Brandon, Sharon, Kimberly, Joseph, Samantha, Tamara, Isaac and Kenneth; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pamela Brandenstein Brookhart.
Graveside Service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery at Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 10:00am with military honors. Due to the COVID CRISIS the graveside will be private.
