John Henry Jones

John Henry Jones, age 92, of Pascagoula passed away peacefully on Monday morning, January 11, 2021 in the care of his devoted son. He was born August 9, 1928 in Newton, MS and has been a resident of Pascagoula since 1952. Mr. Jones retired in 1991 from Ingalls Shipbuilding after working close to 40 years. He was a very active member and Deacon of Riverside Baptist Church in Pascagoula. Mr. Jones was a kind and loving spirited man to his family, friends, church family, and community, therefore, he will be greatly missed by everyone.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 70, Ruthie Cecile Jones; two brothers and one sister, Sam P. Jones, Roy E. Jones, and Louise Wilson.

He is survived by his loving son, Dewayne Jones, of Pascagoula;  Numerous other relatives, helpful neighborhood friends, and his loving church family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, 9:00-11:00am, at Riverside Baptist Church in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am with Rev. Tracy Martin officiating. Entombment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park, Pascagoula.  For those unable to attend can watch her funeral service on the Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
