John Thomas Brannon passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 in Pascagoula, MS
John was born in Woodville, AL on December 15, 1934. After his marriage to Jean Newton they moved in 1963 to the Gulf Coast Area. Together they had three daughters, Jona, Jana and Janet. He served in the National Guard and worked at Mississippi Chemical for 35 years, retiring in 2000. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Pascagoula where he served as a deacon and a member of the choir. His brother often referred to him ad John the Baptist. He enjoyed golfing and gardening as long as his health allowed. Although John will be greatly missed we are confident that he and Jean are reunited and he is no longer suffering. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Brannon a daughter, Janet Leigh Brannon; granddaughter, Hana Lea Watts; parents, Ernest and Bernice Brannon; stepmother, Mary Brannon; sister Margaret Brannon Goore; sister and brother in-law, Thomas and Merle Ivy.
He is survived by his daughters, Jona Crowley (Shawn) of Moss Point, MS and Jana Watts (Jason) of Wade, MS; a brother, Wayne Brannon of Onconta, AL and 5 grandchildren, Jeana Laurin Smith (Micah), Catherine Lea Davis, Lea Anna White ( Connor) , Ryan Watts and Jake Watts.
Funeral Service will be at First Baptist Church Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 11am with visitation one hour prior to service. Service will conclude at Oddfellow Cemetery in Quitman, MS at 3:30pm . Condolences can be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com.
