John "Gus" Stadler Jr Obituary

John “Gus” Joseph Stadler Jr. passed away Monday, December 15, 2025 in Ocean Springs, MS after a brief illness.

John was born one of 14 children to John Sr and Ellen Stadler. He arrived on February 23, 1943 in Kansas City, MO. He worked as a painter at Halter Marine and Ingalls Shipbuilding before retiring. Gus enjoyed golfing, fishing, shrimping and trips to the beach. He was known as jokester, always finding something to smile about despite life’s circumstances. To him life was a choice and he chose to be happy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings; Betty Pope, Roberta Winder, Katherine Stadler, Jackie Poe, William Stadler, Martin Stadler, and Larry Stadler.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Diann Wade Stadler; two daughters, Rebecca Thibodeaux and Jennifer Cox and her husband, Trevor; siblings, Mary, Richard, Steve, Sharon, Sheila; grandchildren, Cameron Box, Vanessa Box, Raven Harmen, Joshua Devera, and Breanna Vernott-Brady. Three great grandchildren, Jason Eckert, Kaleb Davis, Ariel Box, and soon to arrive Charlotte Magnolia.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 11:00 am at Turning Point Pentecostal Church in Gautier with visitation one hour prior to service.
