Johnny Duke

John Herbert Duke passed away at his home on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

Johnny, was born on May 22, 1951 in Pineville, LA to Herbert and Vervie Duke. He was a brick mason and contractor for most of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, getting back to nature and an avid Elvis fan. He married Diane Brooks on February 12, 1974, for the next 46 years they enjoyed life together. In January of 2020 he lost the love of his life in death. Johnny was never quite the same after her death. It could be said that he died of a broken heart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Diane; a daughter, Lisa Marie Duke; brothers, Andy Wayne Duke, Donald Duke and Eric Duke; and a sister, Gwendolyn Loraine Allen.

He is survived by sons, Elvis Aaron Duke, Jerry Duke, Elvis Duke, David Bilbo, Johnny Cochran and John Duke; siblings, Anthony Joseph Duke (Anita), Beverly Jones (Melton), Ray Duke, Jerry Duke (Amanda), Mike Duke (Tracy), Frank Duke (Patty), Joseph Rogers, Lynn McLeod (Johnny), Keith Duke and David Duke;  19  grandchildren and  7  great grandchildren numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
