Johnny Ray Dykes, Sr.

Johnny Ray Dykes, Sr., age 83 of Pascagoula MS, Loving husband,Father and friend went home to be with the Lord on June 15th 2024. Johnny Ray was a steel and construction worker for 40 plus years and a shrimp boat owner and Captain for 10 seasons.In his younger years, he was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Johnny was also a college and pro football fan for his entire life. He was a member of Helena Presbyterian Church and regular visitor at Riverside Baptist Church in Pascagoula and Canaan Assembly of God in Jackson County MS. He was United States Army Veteran. 

He is preceded in death by his  parents, Annie Mae Jennings Dykes and John Gordon Dykes; siblings, Grady Dykes,  Herman Dykes,Sr(Esther)Cecil Ray Dykes, A.V. (Coy) Dykes Hyatt, Billie Jean (Jerry) Dykes Smith, Dorothy Dykes (Houston) Hyatt,Bobbie “Sue” (Thomas) Dykes Butler, and Shirley Mae (Pharoah) Dykes Willard; parents-in-law, Douglas and Margaret Ann Lott Hickman; Brother in law Tony (Regina)Hickman.

He is survived by his loving bride of 63 years, Rita Joe Hickman Dykes; Children, Johnny Ray (Annette) Dykes,Jr,  His" Baby girl Margaret Ann"(Mike)Kempner,Doug Dykes and Dear friend of the family,Darlene Conerly,Dewayne(Flame)Dykes ; Grandchildren, Johnny (Taylor)Delashmit, Christi(Brad)Dixon, Keleigh(Blakney Freeman)Dykes,April Dykes,Stephanie Wilson (James)Jones,Samantha Wilson; ( 14) great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Ruby (Jack) Dykes Crawford, Brother in law,Ted(Betty)Hickman , Life long very dear friend, Ellen Griffin. Fur critter babies,Elvis and Sam. 

Memorial Service will be Friday, June 21, 2024, 10:00am, at Canaan Assembly of God, 13602 MS-613, Moss Point, MS  (Escatawpa).
