Joseph William Westphal passed away at his home on Tuesday June 11, 2024 at the age of 93.
Joseph was born on Dec 13, 1930 in Pascagoula, MS and was the last surviving child of 10 children born to William Conrad and Verna Vancourt Westphal. He graduated from Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church (OLV) Class of 1949. He served in the United States Air Force, 82nd Airborne for 3 years at Fort Bragg, NC, 7 years in Germany, and retired in 1971 after 20 years of service. Afterwards, he had a long career and retired from Merchants & Marine Bank. He was a lifelong, loyal and faithful member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church and later in life choir member. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant brothers, William Conrad Westphal Jr. and Norman Frederick Westphal, and siblings, Arsene Westphal, Eloise Armour, Marie Seiler, Betty Stewart, Bertha Lane, Verna Dufault, and Barbara Larson.
He is survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and several other generations of Westphal family.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church Church from 10:00 A.M. -11:30 A.M. with rosary to be recited at 11:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon. Interment with military honors will conclude at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 P.M.
