Joseph Allen Killingsworth, a vibrant soul known for his fierce energy, infectious humor and unwavering love for his family, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the age of 47.
Born on November 23, 1977, Allen was a lifelong resident of Escatawpa, Mississippi. From a young age, he stood out for his incredible work ethic, serving as a role model to those younger than him. He channeled his passion and drive into sports, playing basketball at Moss Point High School and helping his team reach the state championship game - a testament to his strength and competitive spirit.
Allen was perhaps best known as the funniest person in the whole world; he had a great sense of humor and was truly the life of the party, always able to bring a laugh to any room. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W) Local 903.
Above all, Allen's three sons were his pride and joy and he loved them fiercely. He enjoyed being outdoors, had a deep love for music and sports and was an enthusiastic fan of his New Orleans Saints (Who Dat!). He also had a special love for his chickens.
Allen is survived by his beloved sons, Jayce Lofton of Grand Bay AL, Jordan Killingsworth and Elijah Killingsworth of Escatawpa, MS; his father, Roger Propst and his wife, Annice Propst of Grand Bay AL, his mother, Rhonda Killingsworth of Escatawpa, MS, his brother Taylor Winegar and his wife, Alex Winegar of Seattle, WA, his brother Jake Propst of Grand Bay, AL and his cousins, Stephanie Killingsworth of Monticello, AR and Jeremy Killingsworth and his wife, Brittany Killingsworth of Ocean Springs, MS (both of whom Allen thought of as a brother and sister).
Allen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy Killingsworth and Vera Killingsworth ("Memaw" and "Paps") of Escatawpa, MS and grandmother, Ruby Propst Bingham of Grand Bay, AL. He was also preceded in death by his uncles, Terry Killingsworth and Mark Killingsworth and his great-nephew, Caleb Killingsworth.
Visitation will be Friday, October 17, 2025 at Turning Point Pentecostal Church from 10am -11am. The church is located at 4404 Gautier-Vancleave Rd, Gautier, MS 39553. The Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest by his Memaw and Paps in Machpelah Cemetery.
