Joseph Q. White, Jr. Obituary

Joseph Quitman White, Jr. age, 72, passed away peacefully August 11, 2024, in Pascagoula, MS. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Quitman White, Sr. and Mary Jean Blackwell White, both of Jackson, MS. He is survived by his wonderfully loving wife of 50 years, Zeneece, his only daughter Katie, and three remarkably loved granddaughters Avery (7), Aubrey (5) and Ansley Stennis (3).

Joe was born in Jackson, MS on November 9 th , 1951, and graduated from Provine High School. He attended the University of Mississippi where he graduated with a business degree in 1972. During his time at Ole Miss Undergrad, he was lead percussion for the Ole Miss Band. He then attended the University of Mississippi Law School where he graduated with his Juris Doctorate degree in 1975. After graduating, Joe and his bride Zeneece moved to Pascagoula where he began practicing law. He was exceptionally decorated in the law community by serving as President of the Jackson County Junior Bar Association and then President of the Jackson County Bar Association, Jackson County Court Administrator, Special Master and Family Master for Jackson County Chancery Court, along with his independent law practice. He retired from his practice and lawful duties in January of 2024. Joe was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church in Pascagoula where he served many roles including Elder and Deacon. He was a member of the church’s choir for many years and led the adult’s Sunday school classes weekly.

He served as Commodore of Singing River Yacht Club in Pascagoula in 1996, where he was a member for years as he thoroughly enjoyed his sailing endeavors with his brother-in laws and lifetime friends. Joe was a very well known nationally recognized Chief Horse Management Judge with the United States Pony Clubs. He graciously spent most of his time traveling across the country to countless horse shows with his beloved daughter, Katie. In any spare time that he did have, he enjoyed reading, and the outdoors as an avid fisherman, sailor, and deer hunter. Anyone that knew him knew his love for Ole Miss football. Joe will leave an unfillable void in the lives of his family, friends, and past coworkers. He was undoubtedly the most gracious man in both his professional and personal life; his sharp wit, matter-of-fact personality and contagious laugh and love for fun will be truly missed by so many.
