Josephine was born on May 19, 1924 on a small farm near Raymond, Mississippi.  Josephine was the fifth of eight children. Upon graduation from Raymond High School during WWII, she moved to Pascagoula, Mississippi to stay with an older sister and find work at Ingalls Shipbuilding. Josephine married the love of her life Calvin R. George, Sr. shortly after he returned from the war in Europe. The couple resided in Pascagoula raising 3 children. Josephine moved to Fort Walton Beach to be near her son in 2004. Josephine was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pascagoula and an associate member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Walton Beach.

She is survived by her son Calvin R. George, Jr. (Sherri), granddaughters Kecia George Connick (D.J.) Stephanie George, and many nieces and nephews.

Josephine was a loving mother and grandmother. She was greatly loved by her family and friends. While raising her children she taught Sunday school at the First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula. She always had a fondness for children.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Vergil Brown, the assisted living staff at The Meridian at Westwood, and Covenant Hospice for the loving care and compassion they showed our mother and grandmother.
