Kenneth L. Green

Kenny Green, 79 of Pascagoula, MS, completed his battle with pancreatic cancer on April 6, 2024 and found divine healing in the arms of Jesus. At the time of his passing, he was in his home, surrounded by his family who love him dearly and who will forever cherish the privilege of watching him enter the gates of Heaven.

Kenny graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1963 and attended Mississippi State University. He worked at Chevron of Pascagoula for 32 and a half years and retired at the age of 55. After retiring from Chevron, he continued work in the oil industry in Kazakhstan and other contract work in and outside of the U.S. He was a valued member of his community and numerous organizations where he volunteered his time and talents to many charities and individuals. He was an active member, trustee and deacon of Ingalls Avenue Baptist Church where he served in numerous leadership capacities and lived out a true love for his church family. His work ethic was unmatched, his ability to fix or build things unlimited, and his servant’s heart to use each of these talents was one that impacted this community in untold ways.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Green of Washington State and Dorothy Liber of Pascagoula. He was married to the love of his life, Evelyn Green, for almost 56 years. They had two daughters, Christy Foster (Brad) of Gautier and Kimberly Walley (J.R.) of Hattiesburg. He was the proud Paw Paw of Alison Graves (Shaq), Kaitlin Brown (Dakota), Zachary Walley (Kimberly), Madison Scott, Rachel Walley and Olivia Ramsumair, and great-grandfather of Samuel, Avery and Amelia Graves. In addition, he leaves behind numerous cousins and friends.

The visitation for Kenny will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 11:00am to 1:00pm with a celebration of his life at 1:00pm, all to take place at Ingalls Avenue Baptist Church of Pascagoula. Internment will be held at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS following his service. Officiants will be John Turner and Dr. Mike Barnett. Pallbearers are Zachary Walley, Craig Foster, Aulton Vann, Eddie Thaggard, Guice Smith and Pat Heidelberg. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Eley, Joe Ferrer, Marty Thaggard, Ricky Langly and Terry Langly.

We, as his family, would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Light and Singing River Cancer Center for their exceptional care and compassion, as well as each person who visited and called.
