Kenneth Stearns Obituary

Kenneth Everett Stearns passed away in Biloxi, MS on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the age of 78.

Ken was born on December 31, 1942 to John and Mabel Stearns. He served in the United States Navy 1960-1963 as a machinist. Being the patriot he was, Ken married Sue Ward Brandenstein on July 4, 1971.  Ken worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding, Chevron Refinery and Offshore Oil Rigs as a machine operator. He loved his cars and kept them washed and polished and in his younger years, was an avid body builder. The family moved to Gautier in 1972 at that time very few houses were on the street but as the neighborhood grew, he would walk the streets getting to know them. Many lasting friendships were formed over the years and many of those are standing in a new neighborhood to welcome him home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Meredith Potterf; son-in-law, Dale Smith; grandson, Derek Stearns and great grandson, Jayden Lane Breeland.

He is survived by his wife, Dollie Sue Stearns of Gautier, Ms; daughter, Leeann Nipper of Logansport, Indiana; a brother, John Stearns; step children, John Clifford Brandenstein (Terri Jo Graham) of Pascagoula, MS, David Glenn Brandenstein (Amy Sloane) of Pascagoula, Susan Brandenstein of Grand Bay, AL, and Lisa Marie Smith of Theodore, AL; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
