Kitha Rena Hester Brooks

Kitha Rena Brooks,  age 61, was born in Pascagoula, MS on April 26, 1962. Rena lived and raised her family in Hurley, MS. Rena passed away in Lucedale, MS on April 28, 2023. Rena was loved by so many friends and family. Rena was diagnosed in May 2022 with cancer and from that point she fought every day to be with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her father, James Timer Hester; her daughter, Jessie Marie Anderson; her stepfather, Arthur Anderson and her granddaughter, Lindsey Brooks.

She was survived by her mother, Idell Anderson; her husband of 23 years, Gary Brooks; her children Terria (Johnnie) Marion, Michelle Neighbors, Alicia (Bruce) Kines, Lee (Crystal) Brooks, Jessica (Chad) Willis. Her grandchildren, Jonathan (Angela) Neighbors, Erica (Juan) Neighbors, Lexy Jones, Makayla Jones, Christian Krebs, Aniya Held, Jeremiah Marion, Bentley Kines, Damian Willis, Makenzie Willis, Maria Brooks, Michelle Brooks, and Jasmine (Keith) Reynolds. Great-grandchildren, Gage Stringfellow, GraceLynn Reynolds, Brinxleigh Reynolds. Dearest friend, Roger Everhart. She had numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the Cancer Research Institute. 

Visitation will be Sunday, April 30, 2023, 6:00-8:00pm, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 4811 Telephone Road, in Pascagoula, MS.  Funeral Service will be Monday, May 1, 2023, 11:00am, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tommy Mitchell officiating.  Interment will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Wade, MS.  

Pallbearers will be Mack Anderson, Travis Anderson, Jonathan Neighbors ,Robert Harmic, Roger Everhart and Juan Aguilar
