LaVerne Webb Germany passed away on Wednesday, Jan 1, 2020 shortly after the new year began.
LaVerne was born on October 29, 1930 in Coffeeville, Alabama to Charlie and Grace Webb. She was devout in her faith and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Gautier where she was faithful until her health no longer allowed her that priviledge. She worked as a registered nurse for almost 20 years at Singing River Hospital and then as a home health nurse. LaVerne had a kind and sweet spirit and was in her element when serving others. Her faith and abilities came together as she served on the Missionary Nursing Team traveling to Honduras and Guatemala to name a few to take care of those less fortunate. Those that knew and loved her considered it an honor to be counted as her friend.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death her husband, Odren Germany and a granddaughter, Mindy Lee Billings. She was also the last of eight children, preceding her were siblings, Shelly and Angela Webb who died at birth, A.V. Pardon, Laura Webb, Tennison Webb, Revere “Patsy” Koptis, and Alda Dobbins Chambers.
She is survived by two sons; Larry Germany of Heidelburg, MS and Tommy Germany and his wife Judy of New Mexico; a daughter, Lillie Simon and her husband Donnie of Ocean Springs, MS; grandchildren, John Germany (Kelly), Paul Germany (Heather), Curtis Germany (Laura), Phillip Germany, Shane Michael Germany Justin Brass and Frank Brass (Christina); 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, January 6, 2020 from 10-11am at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula with funeral to follow at 11am with Bro David Aultman officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com
