Lamar Crowther, born on September 10, 1958, in North, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the age of 66. Lamar spent his early years alongside several siblings, growing up in a family that moved frequently throughout Mississippi. Despite the many changes in location, Lamar's work ethic and quiet strength remained constant. He devoted much of his life to the construction industry, working for many years as a laborer alongside his cousin, James Riley. Known for his dedication and reliability, Lamar was a hard worker who found purpose in a job well done.
While he never sought out a busy social life, Lamar built meaningful relationships with a small, close-knit group of friends. In his later years, he made Pascagoula, Mississippi his home, where he found lasting friendship and support, particularly from his best friend, Terry Scott. Terry was instrumental in ensuring Lamar was cared for and valued, especially in his final years. Lamar will be remembered fondly by those who knew him in Pascagoula — a man of quiet loyalty and enduring presence. His friends and community will miss him dearly.
Memorial service to honor Lamar’s life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at O’Bryant – O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
