Lennie Morgan Sheffield Sr.

Lennie Morgan Sheffield Sr. passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the age of 83.

Lennie was born on September 21, 1939 in Coy, AL to Lennie and Ruth Sheffield.  He graduated from Wilcox High School in Camden, AL. Lennie proudly served around the world in the United States Navy.   He met and married Portia Pose on August 17, 1963. In 1972 he moved his family to Pascagoula, MS, where he worked as an Engineer for Ingalls Shipbuilding retiring in 2003. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and the outdoors in general and was a member of the Pascagoula Country Club.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Portia Sheffield; children, Lennie M and Haidee Sheffield Jr, Lennette and Steve West, and Nicolle Rayborn; grandchildren, Morgan Leah Sheffield and Leo Authur Sheffield; step grandchildren, Katie West Davey and Molly West Paris; sister-in-law, Louise Sheffield, brother-in-law, Jimmy Pose and his wife Maire and numerous other relatives and friends.

As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Hospice of Light or Parkinson’s Charity of your choice. Special thanks to Dr. Suzane Iodice, the nurses and staff of Singing River Hospital 2nd Floor East as well as Catfish Hamm and the nurses of Hospice of Light, for their compassionate care during his illness.

A celebration of life will take place Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the Pascagoula River Audubon Center in Moss Point, MS, with visitation at 10:00 am, service at 10:30am and fellowship to follow. Mr. Jim Roe III will officiate. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com.
