Lester "Pops" Charbonnet

Steve Lester “Pops’ Charbonnet, age 81, of Pascagoula passed away at his home on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

Lester was born on March 14, 1944 New Orleans, LA to Author S. Charbonnet Sr and June Charbonnet. He grew up working hard, a trait that he kept until the end. He was a giver through and through, of his time, resources and of himself. His sincere desire to help others impacted many lives in his 81 years.  He was a member of Spoken Word Church in Pascagoula.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis Charbonnet of Gautier, MS, ; four children, Maureen Charbonnet of Theodore, AL, Lester Charbonnet Jr and his wife Jennifer of Lucedale, MS, David Charbonnet and his wife Janie of Vancleave, MS and Eddie Charbonnet of Tacoma, Washington; three brothers, Ronnie Charnbonnet and wife Johnie, Donnie Charbonnet and Paul Charbonnet and wife Kim; 12 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and a multitude of friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 8, 2025 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula from 11am-12noon with service to follow in the chapel at noon. Interment will conclude at Shiloh Cemetery in Vancleave, MS.
