Lisa Whitney Butler Martin

Lisa Whitney Butler Martin, age 62, of Pascagoula passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 at Singing River Hospital.  She was born Aug. 31, 1958 in Quincy, Massachusetts and graduated from Moss Point High School in 1976. She was a former bookkeeper for Richard Scruggs Law Firm and former traffic guard for Pascagoula School System.  Lisa was a devoted and active member of Riverside Baptist Church in Pascagoula.

Lisa’s love and passion for her family was never short of amazing. Not one Thanksgiving or Christmas went by without her making special treats for everyone or the silent knowing of just how much you were loved by her. She never put herself first. Her life was based on making sure everyone felt at home and was full, when you left her house. Lisa was so giving that she would give you the shirt off her back. She loved so passionately, that made God smiled down on her. Lisa made Everyone she met feel like family, and it stayed that way every time she saw them.  This world and everyone who knew her was blessed to have her in this life but Heaven is gaining the most precious angel, there ever was on earth! Lisa may your wings span from east to west and may your halo shine as bright as the star of Jerusalem.

Lisa is reunited with her parents, Channing Clark and Marion Elizabeth Whitney; step-son, Jason Wayne Martin. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Michael “Mike” O’Dell Martin; two sons, Jayson Wayne Butler (Michelle) and Justin Layne Butler (Shanta); step-son, Michael Martin (Kim); step-daughter, Angelia Foster; four brothers, Richard "Dick" Whitney, Dave Whitney (Mary), Mike Whitney (Sandra) and Mark Whitney (Kathy); Lisa was a loving  “Naana” to the joys of her heart- her 10 grandchildren, Taylor Butler, Annalyse Butler, Noah Butler, Camdyn Butler, Nick Martin, Matthew Foster, Christian Foster, Ashton Martin, Tyler Martin, and Blake Martin; three great grandchildren, other relatives, friends and church family that will miss her greatly.

Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, 10:00-10:45am, at Riverside Baptist Church in Pascagoula.  Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 with Rev. Tracy Martin officiating.  There will be a private family committal service for her at Biloxi National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jayson Butler, Justin Butler, Michael Martin, Matthew Foster, Nick Martin and Christian Foster. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
