Lois Johnson Wallace, age 97, peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 2, 2026.
Born and raised in South Florida, Lois later married Ray Wallace, a Mississippi native, and built a life centered on family, faith, and community. She had a deep love for life and a natural gift for connecting with people. Lois enjoyed getting out and about, often serving as the cheerful chauffeur for her close-knit group of church friends. She found joy in many simple pleasures—painting, gardening, baking, and reading. She was especially fond of classic films, crossword puzzles, history, and genealogy, pursuits that reflected her curiosity and appreciation for the past.
Throughout her life, Lois gave generously of her time. She volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary at Pascagoula Singing River Hospital, the Friends of the Library, the Jackson County Historical and Genealogical Society, and the food bank at the George-Greene Baptist Association. In a final act of generosity, she made an anatomical gift to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Lois is lovingly remembered by her son, Robin (Salena) Wallace of Post Falls, Idaho; her daughter, Susan Moody of Lucedale, Mississippi; her grandchildren, John (Ashley) Clark of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Sarah (Aaron) Bazzell of The Woodlands, Texas, Christopher (Beth) Wallace of Sandpoint Idaho, Alyssa Wallace of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho and Brandi Wallace of Post Falls, Idaho; as well as her great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves behind her dear friend and longtime companion in adventure, Flo Scholtes of Pascagoula, Mississippi. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to First Church of Lucedale for their steadfast support, visits, and prayers, as well as to The Residence at Rocky Creek and Arden Hospice for their compassionate and professional care during Lois’s final years.
A family gathering will be held at a later date.
