Lucy Jamie Ross Carter

Lucy Jamie Ross Carter, age 69, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born January 30, 1955 in Biloxi, Mississippi and has been a life long resident of this area. Lucy graduated in 1973 from Moss Point High School and devoted her life to her family. She was a former seamstress for Hancock Fabrics in Pascagoula and active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pascagoula. She was a member of Legion of Mary and served as Treasurer. Lucy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, planting flowers and spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Joseph Ross and Lucille Louise Ross; two brothers, Frank Ross, and Jojo Ross; two sisters, Bobbie Paysont and Maggie Broussard.

Lucy in survived by her husband of 49 years, William A. Carter, Jr; three sons and one daughter, William Christopher “Chris” Carter; Daniel “Danny” Patrick Carter (Tammy), Paul Benjamin Carter (Holly); daughter, Theresa “Elana” Carter; seven grandchildren, Zaykia “Zay” Carter; Tazena “Taz” Carter, Johnathan “Matthew” Carter, Dawson Carter, Hailey Carter, Trinity “Trina” Carter and Joseph “Joey” Carter; sister-in-law, Cheryl Ross; brother-in-law, Roland Broussard; numerous nieces, nephews, other family member and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 24, 2024, 12:00- 12:30pm, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pascagoula. Rosary recited at 12:30- 1:00 pm. Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00pm at the church. A reception will follow at the Parish Hall.
