Lynette Langley Williams passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama.
She was born on January 3, 1944, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to Forrest and Jewel Langley.
In 1962, Lynette met and married Melvin Williams. Together, they raised three children: Johnny, Tony, and Kim. Most of those years were spent in Gautier, Mississippi. She was a faithful member of Gautier Assembly—now Liberty Assembly of God—for the past 56 years.
Lynette loved her family deeply. Whether she was cooking for them or simply spending time together, her family was her greatest joy and purpose in life. She had a generous spirit, always giving—to her church, to the downtrodden, and to those in need. She gave freely of her resources, time, and talents.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Williams (2018); her daughter, Kimberly Diaz; and her grandson, Derek Scott Williams.
She is survived by her two sons, Johnny L. Williams of Gautier and Anthony “Tony” Williams and his wife, Michelle, of Vancleave. Her grandchildren include Angella NaCole Stewart and her husband, Joseph, of Ocean Springs; Laura Ann Wilson and her husband, Sonny, of Brooklyn, Mississippi; Brooke A. Sepulveda and her husband, Andres, of Vancleave; Zachary Williams of Vancleave; Katelyn Dossett and her husband, Jordan, of Vancleave; Donald Diaz Jr.; Brittany Breaton of Hurley; and Christopher Diaz of Gautier, Mississippi. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Alexis Wilson, Abigail Wilson, Alexander Wilson, Joseph Stewart, and Wesley Dossett; sister-in-law, Gloria Williams McKenzie in Magnolia MS.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Gautier O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will conclude at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Williams, Tony Williams, Mark Emerson, Sonny Wilson, Andres Sepulveda and Zachary Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be D.J. Diaz and Jordan Dossett.
