Marsha Lynn Mozingo Shepard

Marsha Lynn Mozingo Shepard, 73, of Gautier, Mississippi, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with ALS.

Born on January 22, 1953, Marsha was the daughter of Ann Mozingo and the late Martin Mozingo. She lived a life devoted to serving others, spending 45 years as a special education teacher. Through her patience, compassion, and dedication, she touched the lives of countless students and their families, leaving a legacy of love and service that will continue for generations.

Marsha loved God's creation and found joy in being outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, picking and eating crabs, and spending time with friends. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcome and loved.

Above all, Marsha cherished her family. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dean Avery Shepard; her mother, Ann Mozingo; her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Shepard; her stepson, Dean Avery Shepard Jr.; her stepdaughter, Sally Case and husband Kevin Case; her brothers, Tom Mozingo, Marty Mozingo, and Johnny Mozingo; her grandchildren, Alyssa, Shelly, Maddox Shepard Bynum, Maryjane Avery Bynum, and Marsha Kate Bynum; her great-grandchildren, Molly, Jensen, and Amelia; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Marsha faced ALS with remarkable faith, strength, and dignity. Even as her earthly body grew weaker, her spirit remained strong. Through every challenge, she leaned on God's grace and was sustained by the love of her family and friends.

While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. They find comfort in knowing that Marsha has been made whole, is free from pain and suffering, and is now resting in the arms of her Savior.

Marsha's life was a testimony of love, kindness, perseverance, and faith. Her legacy lives on in the countless students she taught, the family she adored, and the many lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, her family looks forward to the day they will see her again in Heaven.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 27, 2026, 10:00-11:00am, at Gautier O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 3290 Ladnier Road.  Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am with Minister Lesa Talbott officiating.  Interment will immediately follow at Shepard- David Family Cemetery in Gautier.
