Mary Ruth Bishop Penn

Mary B. Penn passed away at her home in Gautier, MS on Sunday September 24, 2023 at the age of 92.

Mary was born to James and Margaret Bishop on November 24, 1930 in Star, Mississippi.   She worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding for 35 years.  At the time of her retirement, she was a Material Project Administrator. She loved and enjoyed cooking, fishing, and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph Penn and her son, Richard Michael Penn.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Sara Penn of Conroe, TX; grandchildren, Christa Smith of Gautier, MS, Stephanie Newman (Jack) of Gainesville, TX, Alexandra Melroy (Brian) of Kingwood, TX, Monica Davila (Dean) of Cypress, TX; great-grandchildren, Robert Smith, Madison Smith, Ella Smith, Stephanie Penn, Christopher Melroy, Nicholas Lindell, Samuel Lindell and Ethan Quiroz; great-great-granddaughter, Hollyn Smith.

A graveside service will be held at Crestlawn Cemetery in Ocean Springs, MS on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
