Matthew Tyler Rice, 24, of Pascagoula passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Pascagoula. He was born August 1, 1997 in Pascagoula and graduated from Pascagoula High School in 2015. Tyler received his Associates of Computer Drafting from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and was employed at VT Halter Marine as an Electrical Planner. He enjoyed video games, movies, music, and his cats and dog. Tyler will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Graham; great-grandparents, Norman and Elizabeth Graham; paternal great grandmother, Rosie Lee Waller; paternal great-grandmother, Florine Lassiter; paternal great-grandfather, Emmett Snodgrass.
Tyler is survived by his loving wife, Mahalia Rice, Pascagoula; father, Matt Rice (Stacie), Gautier; mother, Jenny Rice, Biloxi; sister, Taylor Rice, Biloxi; paternal grandfather, Bill Rice (Kay), Gautier; paternal grandmother, Deborah Capps, Big Point; maternal grandfather, Leroy Waller (Linda), Pascagoula; mother-in-law, Tammy Crowder, Pascagoula; brother-in-law, Cody Crowder, Kentucky; step brothers, Tye Ehlers (Crystal), Colby Ehlers, Blake Stanford (Meagan); longtime friends, Tyler Reeves and Pete Simon.
Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, 1:00-3:00pm, at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will begin at 3:00pm with Rev. David Watson officiating in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point. Pallbearers will be Tyler Reeves, Pete Simon, Colby Ehlers, Blake Stanford, Paul Waller, and Cody Crowder.

Because of the concerns of COVID-19, the family is asking for facial masks to be worn and social distancing during the services.
