Mattie Jo Johnson Gilly, age 92, of Pascagoula was born March 19, 1929, and left this world for her Heavenly home on October 31, 2020.

“They shall rise and call her Blessed.”  There has never been, nor will there ever be, another like her.  Our daddy called her “Mama” and she was the love of his life. He loved her at first sight. They were married October 30, 1949.

She left a legacy to her children and grandchildren that will live on forever. She loved her children, grandchildren and everyone that crossed her path.

Mom loved flowers and had an amazing green thumb. She loved music, crafts and puzzles. She loved getting together with family on holidays and special occasions.  The MOST special times were Sunday’s, when family and friends gathered for lunch at Mom’s. Mama’s smile and laughter will always be remembered by her family and friends.

Mom is preceded in death by the love of her life, Shannon Gilly Sr; Her parents Earnest and Ella Johnson. She is survived and will never be forgotten by her children: Shannon Jr. (Buddy) and (Mary) Gilly, Mike Gilly (Karen-deceased), Wayne (Ruth) Gilly, Evelyn Waltman (William-deceased), Tish (Steve) MacInnis, Loretta (Tom) Kubalewski, Sue (Marty) Mullin, Paul, Beth (Steve) Seely; Grandchildren:  Nathan, Shannon, Josh (Michele), Jennifer (Les), Kelli (Steve), Bryan (Sydney), Derek, Jessica (David), Sean, Wendy, Gretchen (Victor), Britt (Russell), Keri (Matthew), Terry, Thomas (Amber), Mattie (Justen), Anna (Nick) Marette, Cassie and Emily. She was Blessed with many great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
