Maxine Thompson

Maxine Thompson, 93, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi died Wednesday, May 13, 2020 in the Ocean Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 8, 1926 in Uniontown, PA the daughter of the late John Thomas Guy & Rubie Catherine Layman Guy. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Elias Thompson on January 27, 1998. She is survived by a son and daughter in law Ross & Sue Thompson of Wesley Chapel, Florida, a cousin Jerry Huffman of Worthington, WV, many nieces & nephews and a special friend Helen Valentine of Rivesville, WV. She was preceded in death by a brother John Thomas Guy Jr. and a cousin Ruby Page. Mrs. Thompson was a former secretary for the R.C.A. Electronic Corporation in California. She was a former member of the Highlawns United Methodist Church in Rivesville, WV and was now a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gautier, MS. Maxine was a graduate of Rivesville High School. Memorial contributions may be made to the Highlawns United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 485, Rivesville, WV 26588. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588. My dear mother deserves a beautiful tribute. Should you be able to celebrate her life, friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating. The committal service will follow in the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover, WV. The services will be streamed on the funeral home Facebook Page.
