Miriam Elizabeth Causey

Miriam Elizabeth Causey passed away Tuesday, 7th of March in Pascagoula, MS at the age of 94.

Miriam was born on the 24th of July, 1928 in Mt Olive, MS to James Monroe and Olivia Gardner Adams.  Miriam moved to the Coast with her Mom & Dad in the late ‘30s and became a life-long resident of the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast.  She enjoyed sailing, visiting the islands with friends and watching the sun set over the marsh of Krebs Lake.  She was an avid follower of all things sports, especially tennis.

Miriam graduated PHS with the Class of ‘46 and was a graduate of Mississippi College in Physical Education.  Miriam taught book keeping at PHS then had a career in banking at both Pascagoula-Moss Point Bank and the Merchant’s & Marine Bank. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband WL (Mutt) Causey, her son, James Coleman Causey and her granddaughter Joy Kathryn Causey.

She is survived by her daughter Wendell Elizabeth Causey Roberts of Pascagoula and her son William Ray Causey (Kim) of Fannin; grandchildren Savanah Kidd (Alex), Lilly Roberts, Caroline Roberts, Elizabeth Roberts, and Will Causey; great-grandchildren Scarlette Kidd and August Kidd.

Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Pascagoula Friday, March 10th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm followed by a small service.  Condolences may be expressed by giving to her favorite organization, the Women on Missions United at wmu.com.
