Myrtis Faye Fillingim a longtime resident of Gautier, MS passed away just 13 days after her 71st birthday.
Faye was born in Ft Walton Beach, FL on June 7, 1955. In 1973 she met and married Ronnie Terrell together they would be blessed with three children, Chris, Summer, and Johnny. Ronnie had a passion for music and youth sports and because of their union Faye was by his side supporting, and being a major part of the Gautier Dixie Youth League.
Her name cannot be mentioned without the words, loyal, faithful, kind, supportive and ally, coming to mind. She loved the outdoors and appreciated the majestic creation that surrounded her. She fused her love and passion for God and family like few can. She involved herself in her church, Latimer Assembly of God, and started the WM program there. Family was #1, unless it was game night, then, she was a fierce competitor. Losing was not in her vocabulary. This was true on game night and in life. She was a warrior of prayer, fighting many battles on her knees. She stood in the gap for her family and church when they were not aware. In the early hours of Saturday June 20, 2026, she fought the ultimate battle winning her greatest victory when the Lord called her by name, Faye and she answered his call.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ronnie Terrell, father, Dalton Fillingim; step-father, Danny Carl Jackson brothers, Ronnie Maynor and James Dalton Fillingim and great grandson, Ronnie Witt Collier.
She is survived by her children, Chris Terrell (Jessica), Summer Terrell, and Johnny Terrell (Beverly) all of Gautier; mother, Myrtis Huggins Jackson; siblings, Annette Spiriti (Tim), Linda Frazier, Brenda Johnson (Paul), Donnie Maynor and Connie Pusey; 11 grandchildren, Jena (Will), Jayde (Tony), Chris Jr (Kalee), Eric (Sarah), Maddox, Carissa, Crista, Celeste (Jeremy), Chelsi (Lance), Drew and Jonathan; 20 great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
