Nancy Stringer Gager, age 81, of Pascagoula passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at her home. She was born April 24, 1943 in Mobile, AL. Nancy graduated in 1961 from Lucedale High School.
She was a former manager for 22 years of Dolphin South Apartments on Market Street in Pascagoula and enjoyed the friendships she developed with the renters and their families. Nancy was a former employee of O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Gautier and Pascagoula for 18 years and she had a special gift of comforting those in need. In 2022 at the age of 79, she retired from Jackson County Young Court after 17 years of employment.
She was a member Calvary Baptist Church in Pascagoula and was previously very active in the church choir, Sunday School Departments, and many committees of the church. Nancy had a loving personality with a sincere and unique genuine way of loving others and making others feel so very special. If you were her friend, you certainly had a great friend in Nancy. Her greatest joy and passion was becoming a “Gran Nan” and attending all of their life events. She often said if she could have had them first, she would have done just that. She will be remembered for her faith, love, and laughter.
She is preceded in death by her mother that died at her birth, Verna Brazil French Stringer; brother, Jackie Stringer; infant sister, Patsy Lanell Stringer; grandson, Coty Grissett.
She is survived by her daughter, Alesia Gager Smith; two sons, Derek Gager (Tiffany) and Brent Gager (Tina); 6 grandchildren, Nickolas Smith (Heather), Caitlin Smith Grissett; Blair Gager Rushing (Summer), T. J. Gager, Ryan Gager, and Robert Gager; 4 great-grandchildren, Joselyn Grissett, Olivia Grissett, Scarlett Smith and Nixon Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial Service will begin on Sunday, August 4, 2024, 2:00pm, at O’Bryant-O’Keefe in Pascagoula with Rev. Randy Pate officiating.
Graveside will be privately held at Union Cemetery in George County, MS.

Jennifer supported Alesia with unmatched dedication. Special acknowledgement to Deaconess Hospice nurses: Vanessa, Ashley and Denazia, who went above their assigned duties and became like family.
