Nelda Virginia (Stockstill) Norwood

Nelda Virginia Stockstill Norwood passed away on 11/11/2024.                                   .

Nelda was born in Picayune, MS on March 3, 1928 one of nine children born to Lavell and Lula Stockstill. She was a faithful member of St John’s Episcopal Church in Pascagoula until her health failed. She had a servant’s heart, sewing vestments for the church and serving in many capacities over the years. She was an avid bridge player and gardener. She enjoyed cooking and watching God’s creations. She worked  in accounting  for Ingalls Shipbuilding before retiring .       .

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006 Allan F. Norwood; siblings, Charles Stockstill, B.F. Stockstill, Merle Stockstill, Huey Stockstill , Jane Powe, and an infant brother.

Nelda is survived by her Daughter, Diana Dirmann and her husband Paul R. Dirmann Jr. of Florida; siblings, Rev. Wayne Stockstill (Gloria) of Tenn,  Jo Appleby of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Christian, Jennifer, Paul R Dirmann III (Jennifer De Leon Dirmann) and two great grandchildren, Sofia And Paul R. Dirmann IV and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be held in Gautier on November 19, at 11:30am, graveside service to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
