Orba Malone Taylor

Orba Nell Taylor passed away at her home Friday, March 6, 2020 surrounded by family.

Orba was born September 8, 1946 in Laurel, Ms to William and Marguerite Malone.  She married James George Taylor Sr. in May 11 of 1962. Together they raised four boys, Junior, Scotty, Curtis, and Matt. Orba was tiny in statue but big in heart.  She loved deeply and if you wanted to see the mama bear in her rise up just speak against her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, William S. “Bubbie” Malone, Bobby Malone, Thomas Malone, Wayne Malone, and  Beverly Wilson.

She is survived by her devoted husband, James Taylor Sr;  four sons, James Taylor Jr  “J T” and wife Margaret, Jeffery Scott Taylor (Sandra Romero), Curtis Taylor and wife Nicole, Matt Taylor (Miranda Dickerson); siblings, Linda Bell, Ellen Prince, and  Curtis Edward Malone; grandchildren, Nick Taylor, Orba Stormy Taylor, Brett Taylor, Bridgett Taylor, Chris Taylor, William Taylor, Caleb Bicknell, Brandon Taylor, Morgan Taylor, Seth Taylor and Emily Taylor and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Gautier O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 11am-12noon with Funeral Service at noon  in the chapel . Interment will conclude  at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com
