Peggy Goree Soljan

Peggy Joyce Goree Soljan, age 87, of Pascagoula passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 in Pascagoula.  She was born April 13, 1937 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and resident of Pascagoula for over 60 years.  She was former Secretary for Ingalls Shipbuilding for over 25 years.  Peggy was an active member of Eastlawn Baptist Church in Pascagoula where she volunteered in the church nursery, member of Sunday School class, and former church secretary.  She was a talented artist and member of Singing River Art Association.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Ronald Soljan and Martin H. Hobbs; daughter, Peggy Rae Breland; granddaughter, Haley Elizabeth Soljan.

Peggy is survived by her two sons and one daughter, Raymond R. Soljan, Jr, Pascagoula; Rhonda Soljan Russell (John), Pascagoula; Mike Soljan (Amanda), Grand Bay, AL; brother, Thomas G. Goree, Montgomery; sister, Nell Calloway, Robertsdale, AL; grandchildren, Matthew Breland, Samantha Ray Breland Savage, Gabriel Scott Thomas, Jordan Soljan; great grandchildren, Riley Breland, Drake Savage and Rose Savage; numerous other relative, friends, and loving church family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, 2024, 10:00-11:00am, at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.  Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Corneliu Bucaciuc officiating.   Interment will follow at Odd Fellow Cemetery in Bayou LaBatre, AL.
