Polly Lee passed away at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the age of 89.
Polly was born on January 9 1934 in Laurel MS to James and Estelle Lee. Soon after moving to Pascagoula she met her husband of 66 years Jerry L. Lee. Together they founded Jerry Lee's Grocery in 1955. The business became an integral part of the community for 62 years. She was a strong woman that even while raising four children played a huge role in building the family business. Always willing to do any job necessary. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pascagoula for many years and also involved in many clubs and organizations.
She enjoyed traveling and many outdoor activities, especially golf in her later years. She lived a full life with many friends and filled our lives with love and unforgettable memories.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry L. Lee ; a son, Gary Lee; sisters, Shirley Pugh, Delma Lovett, Barbara Nell Lee, Delora Schumacher and Beatrice Tully; brothers, Ernest Lee and H.M. Lee.
She is survived by three children, Susan Lee Harris (Terry), Thea Michelle Lee, and Mark Shawn Lee (Renee); eleven grandchildren, Jeremy Lee, Jason Lee, Hope Mulford (Ryan), Scott Lee, Blake Kelley (Carly), Janna Kelley, Ryan Lee (Jordan), Polly Blythe, Courtney Poole (Jason), Kendall Lee and Anna Wells; 17 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Lee, Blake Kelley, Jeremy Lee, Jason Lee, Scott Lee and Ryan Mulford.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Pascagoula, MS from 10:00 am -12 noon with the Funeral Service following at noon. Entombment will conclude at Jackson County Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com .
