Rian Kelly Plaswirth, age 44, of Gautier passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 14, 2025. He was born June 23, 1981 in Pascagoula and graduated from Our Lady of Victories Catholic High School in 1999. He volunteered at the Exceptional School while attending high school.
Rian received his Bachelor's Degree in Economic Development and his PHD, ABD degree from University of South Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. Rian was a former college tutor in Mobile and enjoyed assisting others with their education.
He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gautier.
Rian was passionate about dogs and had a big heart for others. He was talented with abilities to fix things around the house. He will always be remembered for his big heart and gentle compassion for others.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Al and Laverne Ribbeck; paternal grandparents, Lee and Jo Plaswirth.
Rian is survived by his mother, Adrianne Ribbeck, Gautier; father, Rex James Plaswirth; two sisters, Pamela Anita Maldia (Dr. Mark), Susan Michelle (Dr. Bobby), all of Birmingham, AL; nieces and nephews, Frederic Maldia, Isabelle Madia, Gus Brunner, Lt. Pierce Brunner, US AirForce, Sabrina Brunner, and Nicholas Brunner; his beloved dog that he cherished, Gaia.
Memorial Mass will be Monday, July 21, 2025, 10:30am, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gautier, MS with Father Kennedy Soosai officiating.
In lieu of flowers, you may send memorials in Rian’s memory to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gautier.
