Richard Armand Gagnon, Sr. USAF, Ret. age 86, of Pascagoula passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024. He was born August 23, 1938 in Lynn, Massachusetts and has been a longtime resident of Pascagoula.
Richard retired as Master Sergeant in United States Air Force after 20 years of service and serving during Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force, he was employed with Ingalls Shipbuilding as a contracting officer and retired at age 55.
He was of the Baptist faith and attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Pascagoula.
Richard in preceded in death by his parents, Alfred A. Gagnon and Marguerite Rose Gagnon; step-sons, Mark and Joshua Salter; one step-daughter, Robin Salter.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Betty Salter Gagnon; three sons and one daughter, Richard Gagnon, Jr (Sheila), Jessie Gagnon (Amey), Henry Gagnon (Amber), Marguerite Nason; brother, Joe Gagnon; sister, Mary McDermott; two stepsons, Timothy Salter and Danny Salter (Debra); numerous grandchildren and step grandchildren.
At Richard’s request, he will be buried at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS. No services will be held and you can send condolences to his family or share a memory on the Tribute Wall of this website.
