Richard “Ricky” Pokrinchak, also known as “Porkchop” age 72, of Pascagoula passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born February 26, 1953 in North Folk, Virginia as the only child of Betty and Richard Pokrinchak.
Ricky was a proud welder for shutdowns and was a captain for Merchant Marine. He loved working on the water and spending time in nature. He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Ocean Springs. He was a former member of Bethel Assembly of God in Pascagoula where he was a part of the praise and worship team. Ricky was an active member of D’Iberville Christian Assembly and enjoyed singing at his church. He will be remembered for the passion he had for singing gospel music and the love he had for his Lord and Savior.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard George Pokrinchak, Sr.; mother, Betty Carol Dell Pokrinchak.
Ricky is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Debbie Pokrinchak; two sons, Brian Vance (Laura), Steven Vance (Aimee); grandchildren, Gabe Vance, Shelbie Vance, and Lily Vance; best friend, Mark Rodriquez.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, 1:00-2:00pm, at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00pm with Bro. Eddie Edwards officiating.
Special acknowledgement and appreciation to Hospice of Light nurses and staff and especially to Brian and Steven for helping Ricky and Debbie during this difficult season of life.
