Robert Howard Hutchison

Robert H. Hutchison, age 83, of Helena, MS., passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on May 8, 2025. Robert was born in Kosciusko, MS., on November 2, 1941. He was the son of Troy Hutchison and Lavell Saulters. Robert was a graduate from Pascagoula High School class of 1962.

Robert served in the U.S. Army as SP/4 in the Vietnam War. He was in the First Infantry Division known as “The Big Red One”. Robert was married to Sylvia Cowles Hutchison for 54 years until her passing in 2020. He worked at Ingall’s Shipbuilding for over 36 years and was an Electronics Specialist Class A.

Robert was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to garden, hunt, and fish. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with family and friends. He was known to have multiple gardens a year and loved nothing more than to share his vegetables with everyone. He enjoyed spending time at the hunting camp with longtime friends Glen Whittington and Gary Weems. Robert also enjoyed watching Westerns and Swamp People. Robert loved his family very much and will be forever missed but always loved.

Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Sylvia Cowles Hutchison; mother, Lavell Saulters; father, Troy Hutchison; sister, Nell Price.

Left to cherish his memory are his 3 daughters, Dana (Jon) Miller, DeAnna (Stacey) Doggett, and Dixie Nall; sisters, Wanda Ray, Darlene (Larry) Tillman, and Patsy Gautier; grandchildren, Bradley (Stacy) Ladnier, Ashleigh Ladnier, Jeremy Ladnier, Charis Miller, Joleigh (Josh) Cumbest, Kaelee (Monica) Cumbest, Skylar Cumbest, Travis (Jessie) Nall, and Krista Nall; great grandchildren, Shayden Ladnier, Haylen Ladnier, River Ladnier, Harmony Ladnier, Aubrie Ladnier, Amira Bradley, Aleigha Bradley, Anterius Bradley, Alissah Beyers, Chloe Nall, Shawn Nall, Jace Nall, and Madalynn Olivares.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm and the funeral service to be Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 11:00AM all at O'Bryant - O'Keefe Funeral Home Pascagoula, with internment to conclude at Serene Memorial Gardens. The pallbearers will be Skylar Cumbest, Deryke Cumbest, Travis Nall, Jeremy Ladnier, Stacey Doggett, and Jon Miller.
