Robert "Bob" Douglas Obituary

Robert “Bob” Martin Douglas, 65, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 24, 2025.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Rome Douglas; his son Nicholas Hinson; daughters Jennifer Sellers (Jason) and Diandra Rogers (Judah); and his cherished grandchildren Cecily Millette (Leon), Jason Sellers Jr., Lahja Rogers, Emilirose, Kadence, Zachariah, and Kristina Edward. He is also survived by his siblings Sherry Searcy (Ron), John Douglas (Alice), and Debbie Douglas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Bob.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Evans, second wife Barbara Hinson Douglas, his father Bobby Jean Douglas, and his mother Vera Martin Douglas Adams.

Born on December 15, 1959, Robert was the youngest of four children and often referred to himself fondly as “the little darling.” His father passed away before he was born, and his family took special care to make sure he was surrounded by love and laughter.

Robert had a gift for storytelling and a heart for bringing people together. He loved hosting family gatherings, sharing memories, and making everyone feel welcome. His sense of humor, kindness, and deep love for family will be remembered by all who knew him.

My PawPaw- Robert Douglas
My pawpaw was many things to many people: a dad, a friend, a pawpaw, a husband, an uncle. He took great pride in these titles. He prided himself greatly on being the best version of these things that he could be, and he encouraged others to live up to their titles as well. He would want to be remembered as a loving, hard-working, God fearing man. One who stuck to his ideals no matter what. He encouraged everyone around him to be the best versions of themselves they could be and to follow their dreams. He loved a good cup of espresso with just a bit of sugar, a day spent on the water fishing and to tinker on things. He was constantly working on something. However, he never missed his midday nap. "Rest is important." He would say. If you ever need to feel closer to him, if you are looking to honor his memory, or if you just want to further his legacy, then follow his lead. Take a loved one fishing, offer someone struggling a hand up, drink a fresh cup of espresso with just a touch of sugar, or cook a good meal to share with someone you love.
