Ronald "Ron" Gene Dudley

Ronald “Ron” G Dudley, 70 of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. He was born November 5, 1951 in Pascagoula, Mississippi and is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Eley Dudley. Ron is survived by his wife Jeanette Dudley, his three daughters, Victoria Dudley(Garrett Hatcher), Juli Collum (Michael Collum), Samantha Dudley (Michael Kuppersmith); his seven grandchildren Ian Dudley, Baylee Collum, Riley Collum, Eley Hatcher, Liam Kuppersmith, and Nolan Kuppersmith; his sisters Julianna Ehlers (Tom Ehlers), Lili Wolfe (Jim Wolfe), Brother-in-law Butch Cooper (Vicki Cooper); as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family members and special friends.

Proudly following his family’s tradition of military service Ron joined the United States Coast Guard in 1972. Retiring after over 20 distinguished years of service with the Coast Guard where he received many awards and commendations for outstanding performance, with the rank Senior Chief Boatswain Mate. Ron started a second career as a US Merchant Marine Officer rising to the rank of Captain (North American Waters) and Second Mate (Oceans unlimited). Ron will be greatly missed by family and friends.
 

Graveside Service will be Saturday, May 14, 2022, 3:00pm, at Machpelah Cemetery (South side) in Pascagoula.  A public celebration of Ron’s life will be held in June to coincide with the military honors at sea.
