Roy M. Cooper, 80, of Pascagoula, MS passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2024 with his wife and family at his side.
He graduated in 1962 from Pascagoula High School and began his employment at Ingalls Shipbuilding. Roy retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in 2003 where he worked for 41 years, the last 37 as a Sr. Change Order Estimator.
He was an accomplished guitar player and loved all types of music, playing locally all along the Gulf Coast and his hometown of Pascagoula. He loved the simple things in life, and spending time with his precious family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.H. Cooper and Ottie T. Cooper; sister, Lorraine Lindsey of Huntsville, Alabama; brothers, Ralph Cooper, Jacksonville, Florida, Robert Cooper, Pascagoula, and Raymond Cooper, Pascagoula.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda of 41 years. His beautiful and amazing daughter, Tracy Porter (Cliff) of Pascagoula, MS; sons, Timothy Cooper (Cassie) of Opelika, Al, and James Meagher, Pascagoula, MS; granddaughters, Savannah (Wes) Steiner, Pascagoula, MS, and Brittany Holzbauer,(Thomas) of Southport, NC; grandsons, Nicholas Cooper, Columbia, TN, and Blake Porter, Pascagoula, MS; great granddaughters, Xena Cooper, Columbia, TN, and Stella Rose Steiner, Pascagoula, MS.
Roy Cooper will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. His warmth, wisdom, and funny sense of humor and the joy he brought will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Services be at O'Bryant - O'Keefe Funeral Home on Friday, June 14, 2024. Visitation will be 10:00am to 10:30am with services to follow.
