Roy Allen Holmes

Roy Allen Holmes, age 89, formerly of Pascagoula, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in Kelsey, Alabama.  He was born February 25, 1936 in West Point, MS and was a long-time resident of this Pascagoula. 

He was a US Army Veteran and retired in 1991 from Ingalls Shipbuilding as a Financial Manager. Mr. Holmes was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pascagoula.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Ann Thomas Holmes; parents, Wade Wise and Hattie Marble Cogsell Holmes; three brothers and one sister.

Roy is survived by his two sons, Russell Allen Holmes (Malinda) and Gregory Thomas Holmes; nine grandchildren Megan McAlpin (Graham), Katie Sowers (Thomas), Kelton Holmes, Haven Holmes, Richard Holmes, Olivia Holmes, William Holmes, Thomas Holmes, and Ellie Holmes; five great grandchildren:  Mary Juniper and Gideon Sowers, and Connor, Abigail, and Brooks McAlpin; and a daughter-in-love, Lisa Kossik (Andrew).

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4, 2025, 12:00-1:00pm, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pascagoula.  Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00pm with Father Everardo Mora-Torress officiating.  The burial will be privately held at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
