Sarah Bragg Obituary

Sarah Alice Goss Bragg, 84, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Sarah was born December 6, 1941, in Sebastopol, MS, to Madison and Neomia Goss. She was raised in Vancleave, MS, and was a graduate of Vancleave High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, and her husband of 42 years, Ray Bragg.

Sarah is survived by her five children: Eric (Lori) Bragg of Madison; Daryl (Tammy) Bragg of Madison; Bruce (Donna) Bragg of Vancleave; Brad (Carol) Bragg of Opelika, AL; and Traci (Russell) Eplin of Gautier. Sarah was the beloved Mamaw to Haley (Ben) White, Zach (Jessica) Bragg, Heidi (Brad) Hickman, Drew (Megan) Bragg, Matt (Daphne) Bragg, Whitni Bragg, Grafton (Jamie) Bragg, Chasen Bragg, Amy Bragg, Tristan Bragg, Bragg (Brittney) Eplin, and Ella Rhea Eplin, as well as 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Malcolm, Albert, and Freddie, along with a wonderful extended family of sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Sarah spent many years as a devoted baseball mom to her four boys in the Pascagoula Youth League. When she was blessed with a baby girl in 1975, she also proudly took on the roles of
pageant and cheerleader mom. Her career as a REALTOR® and broker began in the 1970s, and she kept her license current throughout her life. Sarah’s family were honored to see her enjoy so many different passions throughout her life. She spent many fun years enjoying Mardi Gras, where she reigned as queen and served as Grand Marshall of the Gautier Mardi Gras parade. She was a lifelong Elvis fan, famously attending concerts and even enjoying a front-row experience. She was also a charter member of the Jackson County Elvis Fan Club. Sarah adored dancing and often invited friends and family to share in that love. She deeply loved her church family at Gautier First Baptist Church, including the special ladies in her "Rejoice" Sunday School class.

She was always up for an outing with her longtime circle of friends and cherished opportunities to travel with friends, her children, and other family members — a passion she passed on to her
entire family. She especially loved the beach and the Gulf Coast and was famous among her family for her gumbo, red velvet cake, and secret cookies. Sarah was a force of life and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
