Sarah Juaniece Richards McElroy died peacefully at the home of her daughter in Gautier, Mississippi on Friday, January 29, 2021.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jack McElroy, her brother Reverend Sidney Davis of Taylorsville, Mississippi, her children Linda Butler (Steve) of Nashville, Tennessee, Kenneth Richards (Cindy) of Deepwater, Missouri, Cathy White (Thomas) Birmingham, Alabama, Steven Richards (Fern) of Washington, D.C., Mark Richards (John) of New Orleans, Louisiana, Roxanne Faulk of Gautier, Mississippi, Dwayne McElroy (Laura) of Slidell, Louisiana, Debbie King (Tony) of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Donna Wilson of Tampa, Florida, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Elma and Doy Davis of Taylorsville, Mississippi and her first husband of 40 years Kenneth P. Richards of Gautier, sisters Catherine Tomlin of Semmes, Alabama, and Shirley Shuster (Jerry) of Gautier, Mississippi.
Juaniece was born March 3, 1933 in Taylorsville, Mississippi. She moved early in life to Pascagoula/Moss Point/Gautier area where she has resided until her death.
She graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1951. She retired from Mississippi Power Company in 1989. Juaniece was a loving and dedicated Mother, Meemaw, and Great Grandmother. After retirement she enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband Jack. She loved crafting, often gifting her creations to family and friends. Her sweet presence will be greatly missed.
She was a member of the Union Baptist Church in Grand Bay, Alabama
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula from 11am-12 noon with funeral to follow in the chapel at 12 noon. Brother David Walley will officiate the service. Burial will take place at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
