Sarah Parrish Cotting

Sarah Parrish Cotting, age 85, of Pascagoula passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 in Pascagoula.  She was born on November 10, 1937 in Philadelphia, Mississippi as the 3rd child of 12 to Reon Lafayette Branning and Addie Doris Branning. Sarah has been a resident of Jackson County for over 60 years. 

She was a former employee of Burnham Drugs in Pascagoula and Kress Store in Pascagoula. Sarah was the owner of Sarah’s Used Furniture on Chicot Street and Hospital Road in Pascagoula.

Sarah had a real gift for seeing the value in special unique items and enjoyed collecting Dolls, Plates, Crystals, and antique Avon items, just to name a few.  She enjoyed Garage Sales and the joy of knowing the worth of so many things.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jimmy and Johnny Parrish; two brothers and four sisters, Lavett Branning, Billy Branning, Betty Henderson, Bobbie Bowen, Kathy Lilleston, and Imogene Green.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Ray Parrish (Debbie), Pascagoula; Debbie Kennedy (Kenneth), Gulfport; Tony Parrish, Pascagoula; husband, Paul Cotting; two step-daughters, Wendy Taylor and Kerri Tierney; one brother and four sisters, Larry Branning, Lucedale; Glenda Crawford (Larry), Helena; Rachel Conder, Pascagoula; Peggy Westbrook, Pascagoula; Rita Veara, Escatawpa; 13 grandchildren, Nick, Jeff, Josh, Stephanie, Brook, Brandy, Aaron, Audree, Avery,  Anna, Julie Ann, Shannah, and Michael ; 5 great grandchildren, Mason, Braylon, Kade, Kennedy and John Keenan. 

Memorial Service will be Saturday, May 13, 2023, 2:00pm, at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula with Pastor Dan Carr officiating.   Friends may visit from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
